The 25C tax credits have been reinstated until December 31, 2013, so if you purchase an energy-efficient heat pump, you can qualify for up to $300 in tax credits. If you purchase an energy-efficient furnace and main circulating fan, you can qualify for up to $200 in tax credits. You may also be eligible for energy rebates from your state or municipality in addition to incentives offered by your power company.
